In addition to his work in composition and arranging, Niko Rakos is also an accomplished conductor and music director. Since getting his start in musical theatre as a performer in 2012, Niko has expanded to assume leadership positions like "Conductor" "Music Director" "Bandleader" and "Music Associate". Having come from a performing background, Niko has extensive training working with actors, dancers, choirs, and instrumental ensembles, small and large. As a part of Niko's ongoing drive to combine his love for music and film, he creates one-of-a-kind, behind-the-scenes videos that are taken from the orchestra's perspective. Disaster! The Musical - Conductor/Asst. Musical Director
"Getting to work on 'Disaster!' The Musical has been a dream come true. It's an all around hilarious show but it's especially fun to conduct. The score is just song after song of your favorite 70's hits. The pit consists of a small, intimate band, specifically orchestrated to reproduce that iconic 70's sound.
